OUR DENTISTS

Dr. Elliot Mechanic has been practicing multi-disciplinary, restorative esthetic dentistry in Montreal, Canada since 1979. He received his Bachelor of Science (1975) and Doctor of Dental Surgery (1979) degrees in general dentistry from McGill University. Dr Mechanic is the esthetic editor of Canada’s “Oral Health” dental journal and is on the editorial board of Dentistry Today. He also is the co-founder of the Canadian Academy for Esthetic Dentistry, and since 2004 has been annually recognized as an international leader in continuing dental education. He lectures worldwide on treatment planning, smile design, restorative dentistry and implantology. Dr. Mechanic is a diplomate of the American Board of Esthetic Dentistry, Fellow of the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry, Fellow of the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics, Fellow of the American College of Dentists; and maintains membership in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Dr. Mechanic is a pioneer in the field of dental esthetics, having performed one of the first documented cases of porcelain veneers in 1983. For more than thirty years he has created hundreds of smile makeovers. In 1985 Dr. Mechanic became an early user of dental implants and subsequently has treatment planned, restored and written about most of the major systems. He currently lectures on Ankylos implants.

Dr. Mechanic is the author of more than twenty-five scientific articles, textbook chapters and the book, “Esthetic Dentistry/Smile Design: The Patient Guide”, which has been published in 9 languages. He has developed unique materials and techniques, which are globally accepted for artistic smile design and esthetic dental procedures. Dr. Mechanic has created some of the world’s most beautiful smiles and his work has been widely displayed throughout the media.

Dr. Daniel Cohen has been practicing General, Family and Restorative Dentistry since the year 2000. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University in 1995 and Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2000 from the University of Toronto. Since 2001 Dr. Cohen has maintained his own private practice in Cornwall Ontario, while living and commuting from Montreal. In 2015, Dr. Cohen decided to join Dr. Elliot Mechanic’s practice to start the Centre Dentaire Ile Des Soeurs, a family, restorative and multidisciplinary practice servicing patients on Nuns’ Island and the greater Montreal area. Dr. Cohen enjoys practicing all aspects of General Dentistry including Restorative (Fillings, Crowns, Bridges, Implants), Root Canal Therapy, Oral Surgery, Pedodontics (children) and Orthodontics (including Invisalign) with patient education being a priority. Dr. Cohen maintains a General practice that offers Orthodontic services including early treatment with Myofunctional therapy.

Dr. Cohen aspires to quality “Family-style” care for patients and continues to maintain high quality continuing education on an ongoing basis to provide the latest and most technologically advanced treatment for patients.

His memberships include the ACDQ (Association des chirurgiens dentistes du Québec), RCDSO (Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario), ODH (Ontario Dental Association), and the ASDA (American Society for Dental Esthetics).

Dr. Chatelain graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry from the University of Montreal in 1998 with a general dentistry degree. He received several citations of excellence, including one in oral surgery. He obtained a multidiscipline residency certificate, from McGill University in 1999 from the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. He continued his training in implantology and full dental rehabilitation for another year, and was admitted as a clinician at this hospital.

Dr. Chatelain expanded his expertise in implantology and general treatment, at renowned schools; including the Canadian Implant Institute (2002), Académie St-Pierre (2003), the Misch Implant Institute in Detroit in complex bone grafts (2002), in tissus management (2006), and in prosthetic restorations over implants (2009). He is an active member of the Canadian Implant Institutes study group, the American Academy of Oral Implantology, and the International Congres of Oral Implantology, from which he received an honorary Fellow title.

Since 2004, he has focused his practice on dental implants and bone grafts. He founded the Quebec Dental Implant Society and co-founded the Canadian Dental Implant Society. Also in 2004 he founded his own study group in different Canadian regions and provinces, and has been teaching ever since to denturists, dentists, dental assistants and hygienists. Since 2009, he has given advanced training on surgical and prosthetic aspect of dental implants, for dental surgeons and restoring dentists.

Marc Barette received his denturology diploma from College Dduoard Montpetit in 2002. He was one of the first denturologists to offer computer generated CAD CAM prosthesis adapted to dental implants. Marc has actively pursued continuous training to offer his patient’s the most advanced technologies in full and partial denture prosthesis.

Marc is involved in every step of the procedure using his esthetic knowledge and quest for perfection. Customer service is his primary goal!

Dr Mahsa Zamani

Dr Mahsa Zamani received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Laval University in 2008. Since then, she has been offering family oriented dental services in a private practice setting in Montreal. In 2011, she received her certificate from Align Technology after completing the Invisalign Program. Dr. Zamani is also a member of the ACDQ, ASDA and CAED. Since 2013, she has been in practice at the Nuns’ Island family Dental practice.
